Surgisenz Nexisilk is a non-absorbable, sterile surgical suture made from fibroin, an organic protein derived from the domesticated species Bombyx mori (B. mori - the silkworm used to produce silk). The sutures are processed to remove natural waxes and gums, then dyed black and coated with a special wax mixture. This suture is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological procedures.
